Made it to the halfway mark!

Today is the start of my 20th week of pregnancy. I am super excited that it is now halfway done and I am halfway there to meeting my wonderful baby. I went a little over-board on somethings that I did for my little 20 week party, but hey, I had fun with pictures.

Being lazy while doing things...

Yesterday was a pretty fun day. It rained on our walk, lucky Koen, since he is the only one that didn't get wet. Haha. Shortly after we returned home from our walk, a marine wife friend called and said she was on her way to get me. Long story short, her sister was visiting in town(she leaves today) and they were going to Pearl Harbour and invited me along. We left at about 930am, it was fun wandering around and looking at all the free historical things there were to look at. I also got to test my new camera out on little kids, seeing how well it performed with a moving object other then Asher puppy. I love the pictures that came out. :D I got home at about 130pm and I wasn't feeling too well. See... I think it's because I had a chicken sandwich for lunch. It wasn't the chicken, it was the fact it was meat. I haven't really been eating meat. I've been getting my protein else where and while we have a freeze packed full of meat, I haven't eaten any of it since Ray left. So I think my tummy hurt because of that. Odd but hey, it's pregnancy, anything can happen. So, I've been feeling Koen move a lot, mostly when I am sitting down(speaking of moving, he is kicking my bladder as I type... :( Little brat. hehehe) but little flutters here and there anyway, feels like a little goldfish in there. :D

So yesterday as well as it was picture day, I also was looking at old, old pictures, and they were totally cracking me up. :D But there was a cooler reason for me to be look at those pictures, It has been decided to be fate that Koen has Winnie the Pooh crib items, because I found a picture of Baby Ray(thanks to a scrapbook that Soon-to-be Grandma Brenda made for Ray a while ago) on winnie the pooh sheets, and I know I had winnie the pooh sheets(they are currently on Koen's bed because I wanted to take pictures of it. :D )

Me at 19 weeks and 4 days <3>

Funny little thought

Soo, I'm due in January, I have a friend who is due in November, and she is jealous that Koen will be able to open presents on his first Christmas. I told my best friend about this and she came up with this little thought/technicality as she called it.

"and i mean u could get really technical...hes sorta here already for a Christmas ... so would this be his first Christmas? or does it not count till he is born?"

I am amused, but it does bring up a good question... Babies are alive in there... and would be around for their first Christmas in mommies tummy... what do you all think?

Just figured I'd give a little blog post today. No more fun information for now. It's been a kind of slow but chaotic day with the soon arrival of my cat and my absent mindedness. *sigh* In about 45 minutes I'll be on my way to a surprise baby shower for a friend of mine, I feel bad because I have no money to wrap her gift up in, it's just a couple of cute oneies for her little girl. So between Facebook and Thebump.com, I don't know what I am going to do with myself. LOL Other then watch my dumb puppy chase dust. Hehe.

I think Koen has been moving a storm lately, every now and then I'll get a little flutter or something, just something to let me know he is still in there. Or my favorite as of late, curb stomping my bladder, It's sore so it feels like he is stomping on it. Haha.

With that, I'm off for the day to get ready and stuff for the shower and then chilling after.

Parent zodiac compatibilty, as well as a little extra today

Today has been very slow, it's only noon and I feel it should be much later. I've been looking at heartbeat monitors lately and I think I am going to get one, this one, I've heard bad and good things about this specific one, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Cancer and Libra

This pair's biggest asset is the similar way they conquer the world around them. Both of them are self-starters, when anyone wonders what might be coming next, they get something going. The problem, though, is that they don't often finish what they start! Needless to say, this can impact the way that they parent their children. They might have to write down things like feeding schedules or medication times so they don't get lost in the shuffle. And, they might need to find ways of teaching their children to follow through on things, even if they can't do so by example. This set of parents can also have diverse views when it comes to aesthetics. Cancer's priority is on comfort, while Libra's is on beauty. They can clash when they begin choosing clothing for children or decorating their room. By seeing which is more important, ease or appearance, they can determine the correct choice for any given situation.

Week 19

How your baby's growing: Your baby's sensory development is exploding! His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that he may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to him, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on his skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

Zodiac Compatibiliy - Aquarius babies

Aquarius and Cancer

When an Aquarius child relates to a Cancer parentt, it can be a meeting of opposites, a case of the merging of the two ends of the personality spectrum. A concerted effort must be made to allow this Aquarius/Cancer family combination to harmonize. Cancer has an emotional approach to life, in contrast to their Aquarian child's offbeat, unconventional, somewhat aloof point of view. While the Cancer parent may retreat into their shell at the sight of conflict or chaos, Aquarius is both problem solver and gregarious host. Among friends and family, the Aquarius child excels in soothing or arranging social situations. The Cancer parent, on the other hand, is the quiet support behind the scenes, dealing better with family issues in one-on-one settings. Both parent and child like to do things their own way and don't like to encounter resistance. Cancer appreciates tradition and routine and exhibits conservative morals. Conversely, the Aquarius child is modern and numbed by the routine, by the dull and the boring. The free-spirited Aquarius child may feel sometimes restricted by the possessiveness of a pinching Crab parent. If these two can learn to combine their qualities in a positive way, they can go anywhere or accomplish anything. The best aspect of the Cancer-Aquarius family relationship is that when they decide to come together, they are an indomitable force. Once parent and child respect and balance their differences and agree on the inner workings of the family, the dynamics of this relationship can be harmonious.

Aquarius and Libra

When an Aquarius child relates to a Libra parent, the combination heightens the strength and consciousness of both family members. This relationship flows freely, relatively free of stagnancy or boredom. Both are sociable and popular and yet not competitive with one another over their social status. The Aquarius child and the Libra parent share a love of art and a distaste for restrictions in their lifestyles. They are an extraordinary duo for standing up for social justice or radical change in the community. Both Aquarius and Libra have a lot of energy, and working together, they can come up with great ideas and common goals. Aquarius likes the freedom to experiment with many ideas. Libra wants intellectual freedom and is able to look at all sides of an argument and see Aquarius's reasons for choosing the projects on which they spend their time. They do a good job of observing one another's personal boundaries and approaches to life. Aquarius is more of a hands-on learner, while Libra gleans satisfaction from reading a good book. Together they can learn to appreciate that which they might have not noticed before. Though this combination brings together different types of personalities, they are both inquisitive and enjoy learning from one another and from the world around them. The best aspect of the Libra-Aquarius family relationship is their ability to work together as a team. Together they can learn much more than either Sign would alone. Their accomplishments and love of socializing and new projects makes theirs a highly successful and fruitful family relationship.

Zodiac Compatibility - Capricorn babies

Capricorn and Cancer

When a Capricorn child pairs up with a Cancer parent, it's a union characterized by tenacity and strong willpower. This is a very good family combination if what you want to do is get a lot accomplished. Efficient and hard working, both Capricorn and Cancer really need a consistent and traditional family built on a strong foundation of material and emotional security. Both Signs are dependable and conservative. Parent and child have high standards for one another, but those standards are thankfully tempered by tenderness and mutual respect. Cancer appreciates Capricorn's dedication not only to the family, but to everything in which they choose to involved themselves. The Cancer parent will polish and preserve the fruits of their overachieving child's accomplishments. The Capricorn child admires their Cancer parent's emotional openness and availability. Capricorn is logical and down-to-earth for the most part, and Cancer brings an emotional charge to the duo. Cancer appreciates their child's dedication to a cause, and Capricorn admires the tenacity and compassion of their parent. This family succeeds thanks to devotion and a stable home environment. The best aspect of the Cancer-Capricorn family relationship is their utter dedication to one another and their mutual commitments toward the same goals. Both family members enjoy luxury and owning beautiful objects, and neither are afraid of a little hard work to get what they want. Their shared objectives and strong moral compass make theirs a highly compatible and reciprocal family relationship.

Capricorn and Libra

When a Capricorn child and a Libra parent pair up, the fluidity of the family relationship depends on their determination and ability to seek out similar interests. Common ground isn't easy to find with these two, however, but they do exist. This Libra parent is extroverted and derives satisfaction from public interaction. On the other hand, a Capricorn child will be more cautious and calculating; Cap kids steer clear of distractions while moving steadily toward a set goal. While Libra is thoughtful and intellectual, Capricorn sees the value of doing things the hard way -- as long as it leads to assured success. Since both are dedicated and initiating, both will reach their goals. And though they will follow two very different paths, when they least expect it, these two can merge somewhere along the way. Both are self-starters, so when they're on the same team they need to have different and well-defined roles to ensure that they don't step on one another's toes. Compatibility between this parent-child pair will definitely take some effort, but with time and patience, they can teach one another a great deal; the Libra parent can teach their Capricorn child the benefit of socializing, and the Cap child can influence their parent to have more confidence in their decisions. The best aspect of the Libra-Capricorn family relationship is that they each bring their own qualities to the relationship. Once they allow for their differences -- rather than getting in one another's way -- they can blend well to make a whole. Theirs is a challenging family combination, but there is much insight to gain if enough love, trust and effort are put into it.

Capricorn/Aqurius baby

Just a little bit of cool information, Koen is due Jan 17th and if he is even three days late, he will be an entirely different zodiac. I thought it was kind of neat.

_________________________________

Capricorn

The Capricorn baby has a plan from day one and will definitely stick to it! A bit on the serious side, this is a child who is disciplined, methodical and highly organized to boot. Is this really a child?! Well, yes and no. Not adventurously inclined, the Capricorn baby seems almost dull, but they are simply taking time with things, learning lessons slowly so as to learn them well. This child enjoys feeling important from an early age, so don't hesitate to give them responsibilities. The Cap baby is up to the task! They also understand things better as they get older and appreciate the merits of a reward system. Good deeds are repaid in kind! This babe will rejoice and will happily live with that precept in mind. When it comes to learning, the Cap baby shouldn't be rushed, preferring to follow their own pace of discovery. Early lessons will be organizational, which is how this tot's mind operates. Organizing the play group will be play indeed. As with everything, the Cap baby will be hyper-focused and determined. Even speaking will be undertaken with great effort and diligence, leading many Cap babies to bypass babbling and go straight to chatter! To sum up, the Capricorn baby prefers to play it safe, enjoying the efforts of a job well done.

Aquarius

Is the Aquarius baby lonely? Well, it may certainly seem that way, but appearances can be deceiving. This child is a bit detached, even aloof, so solo time may be exactly what they want -- even when crying! This kid would rather work out that hissy fit alone. This, of course, begs the question: Could this tot use some socialization? Probably. Since this won't be the Aquarius baby's natural state, the company of others will become an acquired taste with much prodding from Mom and Dad. The Aquarius baby does have much they can teach others, since this child will pick things up early and differently. The rebel baby has arrived! Parents, sibs and friends will quickly grow to expect the unexpected from the Aquarius tot. The companionship of friends and others will be quite important to the Aquarius baby, even if they don't know how to show it. For that reason, this is a pattern of behavior that should be encouraged. While the Aquarius tot can be stubborn at times and certainly into their own stuff, often their mind is engaged in creative pursuits which should be nurtured as much as possible. To sum up, the Aquarius baby is a talker, very bright, always thinking and actually enjoying the company of others, despite appearances. Work with this baby, and they will shine!

Capricorn/Aquarius - January 19 to January 23

Capricorn is the tenth sign of the Zodiac; Aquarius is the 11th sign. Those born on the Capricorn/Aquarius cusp are involved with and interested in social institutions. They want to make them work as they were meant to work. They are humanitarians and philanthropists, the visionaries of the Zodiac. Friendship is important to them, and they have many acquaintances, in addition to their close friends. These people are also ambitious and disciplined, determined and dedicated to achieving their goals. They are practical, realistic and cautious not to get in over their heads.

The astrological symbol of Capricorn is the Sea Goat. They start from the sea and ascend to the highest mountain tops, working their way upward with every step. While the path is not always smooth, their determination to succeed ensures they will persevere. The astrological symbol of Aquarius is the Water Bearer. Like the Bearer bringing water to his people, this sign brings new ideas to the world. It represents consciousness and the flowing of ideas. Capricorn/Aquarians work hard to bring their ideas to fruition, stubbornly refusing to give up their causes. This may appear as a Capricorn trait, but it is actually representative of the fixed quality of Aquarius. The cardinal quality of Capricorn is seen in their ambition and their willingness to embark on new projects. These people are independent and individualistic, within the world but detached from it. While they are peace-loving and friendly, they can be narrow-minded and overcritical of those not as ambitious as they are.

Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn. In ancient Roman mythology, Saturn (and his Greek equivalent, Cronus) was the father of many of the gods, including Zeus. Saturn is about discipline, hard work and responsibility. It rules both Capricorn and Aquarius; Capricorn is the feminine, or night aspect, and Aquarius is the masculine, or day aspect. Both signs are concerned with achieving goals through hard work, but Aquarians work hard to achieve their visions, while Capricorns use hard work to gain authority and social status. When the planet Uranus was discovered, astrologers assigned it as the modern ruler of Aquarius. It is from this planet that Aquarians receive their visionary nature. Uranus is associated with progress and technology -- anything that is radical -- and it rules electricity and astrology. Some Aquarians have genius that borders on insanity, and their progressive ideas and association with anything that is different makes them dissimilar from Capricorn. Although Capricorn/Aquarians are powerfully influenced by both Uranus and Saturn. Those born on this cusp are both unpredictable and unconventional, while being interested in upholding tradition and conservative belief systems.

The element associated with Capricorn is Earth. Earth Signs are practical: they tend to respond to the world through practicality. The element associated with Aquarius is Air. Air Signs are intellectual: they tend to respond to the world through intellect. Capricorn/Aquarius has fixed opinions and is eager to share and discuss them. While those born on this cusp are tolerant and broad-minded, they tend to stick to their beliefs. Their intellect makes them logical and self-confident, but it may also make them aloof from the people around them. They are original, offbeat and even eccentric, but they are also rather bored by detail. They are often business-oriented and can be extremely scrupulous. Reformist and experimental, they may also seem cold toward anyone who doesn't share their intellectual orientation to life.

Capricorn/Aquarians are among the responsible and traditional sign combinations. They are generally reserved, careful and stable. Sometimes they may be overly critical, even bossy, but this is because they have a strong desire to achieve their goals, not because they are rude. In fact, they are generally polite because they understand that making enemies will not help them achieve anything in life. They tend to be multitalented, both in scientific and creative endeavors. They are unique and rebellious, driven to change the world. Their freedom is important to them, and they are often driven to help others become free as well.

In their leisure time, Capricorn/Aquarians enjoy competition with others. They enjoy both team sports and one-on-one competition. They are quite the social animals and often have a fondness for conversation, as long as it has intellectual depth and meaning. The great strength of the Capricorn/Aquarius is in their ability to set goals and keep working until they achieve them. Their ambition is inexhaustible, and they are not easily deterred when their goals are in sight. Their visionary nature makes them people who take the world to the next level; they make others see things in a new light. Their ability to break the rules and move beyond what others think is possible makes them one of the most innovative and hard working characters of the zodiac.

Year of the bull ox (26Jan09 - 14Feb10)

Character traits of babies born during the Chinese Year Of The Ox

Years of The Ox: 1901 1913 1925 1937 1949 1961 1973 1985 1997 2009

The Ox of Chinese Astrology is no bull in a china shop. Steadfast and solid, this powerful Sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. Oxen tend to be plodding and methodical; they approach projects in the step-by-step manner that serves them best, and they never lose sight of their goal. They are tireless workers who are detail-oriented and believe in doing things right the first time.

The world may perceive Oxen as being far too serious or incapable of loosening up. This sturdy sort is less than social by nature and tends to become introverted in a crowd. To make things worse, they can't be bothered with what other people think and prefer to do what makes them feel best. Behind that calm facade, though, lives an Ox who can feel hurt, lonely and unable to connect with others. Friends and family are a great source of comfort to this beast, even if they don't always understand what makes the Ox tick. As a lover, friend, family member or housemate, the Ox makes a wonderfully strong, tender and affectionate companion who is protective and always reliable.

Out in the world, though, Oxen tend to be stubborn, dogmatic, my-way-or-the-highway kind of people who have no concept of when to back down. Oxen don't care to be pushed, especially since they think they're the good guys of the Chinese Zodiac. There is some truth to that theory, since the Ox is smart, trustworthy, caring and honorable. If you need honest, steady and unbiased advice, call on the Ox.

A good lesson for mighty Oxen is to strive to overcome a judgmental nature that keeps them from getting close to others. If they can learn to value their own good qualities, they'll have more room in their hearts to invite others in.

Just an interesting little tidbit of information I decided to look up since my mother and I were discussing it the other day. It seems that Koen is going to be born one month before the Year of the Tiger in 2010. :D

I had a doctor's appointment today, nothing to special just a little check up :D Just gotta make sure I am taking my prenatal vitamins and listen to Koen's heartbeat. :D It's getting more distinct, it made me happy, I am almost tempted to spend 20 bucks and buy one of those at home heartbeat listener things. :)

Lots of love, Kelisa and Koen :D

17 weeks and 4 days

Ray is gone and I am sad, but he will be back in october and it gets closer to october everyday :D I promised Ray when he left that I would take weekly pictures of my belly to watch the growth. :)

From Blogger Pictures

Going away :(

So it is between doctor's appointments and we find out that Ray is leaving August 8th for Okinawa until the 7th of October for schooling and what not. :( Which is sad because he was going to miss the most important ultrasound, my 20 week ultrasound at Tripler to find out the gender of our wonderful bundle of joy. So taking the advice of some Marine wife friends, I googled 3D/4D ultrasound honolulu hawaii and to my surprise got a hit. A little place off of Ala moana blvd did 3D/4D ultrasounds( Tomorrowtoday ultrasounds ). Hooray! Was my first thought as I happily browsed their website(this was before I knew what day Ray was leaving) , the next day, I secretly sent them an email requesting a appointment on the 8th at anytime they had availble. I was in luck, a 9am appointment was open. I was so excited when I booked it. (I purchased a 3D gender verification package, quite affordable to my surprise and I would love to do it again more towards November time when Koen is more developed.) I found out the next day that Ray was supposed to leave saturday so I had to reveal my plan, and to our luck on Saturday, we both got to go to my ultrasound appointment and it was so worth it. We were both excited to find out we were having a little boy and Ray was so shocked that babies moved around as much as they did in the womb. It was a very magical experience for us both. <3

Hawaii

May 21st, We make it safely to Hawaii. Things are slow because we have no mode of transporation except a fellow LCpl at the time. But as we progress into June, I get taken to the clinic on base, who do exactly as I did to confirm my pregnancy, I at least figured they would do a blood test as well, but whatever. So now it's "offical". So I fill out my obgyn packet for Tripler Medical Hospital, the most "wonderful" pink building on the mountian in Honolulu. Haha. But it is also pouring rain at the same time and I am waiting for my ride back to the lodge. So we finally get our car the middle of June and I schedule my first prenatal appointment. Ray has come along with me to all my appointments, this first one being just registration and whatnot. The next one was hearing the heartbeat and a physical. Probably a little awkward for Ray, but things like that have never really bothered me. Oh, and by this time we've adopted the cutest little lab/border collie puppy and have moved into our new house, which is huge!!!!

Our House!

Asher Oreo, our new puppy. <3

Me at 15 week and 3 days, I believe. :D

Finding out... :D

So lots of fun and one month later! It was so exciting to finally know. :D But now the fun comes in because on May 20th, we were leaving 29 palms for Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Prepregnancy

Hello all, I know, I should have started this blog sooner, but a lot has happened, I'll explain in my next post, but first, just some pre-pregnancy things.

Wedding 06.20.08

Who knows? LOL I was just having fun with my DSi and that was the face Ray made. I was a ducky! :D

Cool thing about this photo is it was taken on the first day of my last period, so this is my absolute pre-pregnancy photo :) 04.12.09
